Jaime becomes concerned that her bionics are stopping her from leading a life of her own; reaching a decision, she visits Oscar and hands in her resignation from the O.S.I. However, when Oscar later pays Jaime a visit at her house, he informs her that the government has decided that if she were to live as a private citizen, she would be at risk of being captured by enemy agents; therefore, for her own good, she is to be taken to a special compound for retired agents, where she will live in comfort – for the rest of her life. Jaime is outraged at the prospect of being a prisoner for the rest of her days, and she immediately goes on the run from the O.S.I. …
